Cleo de Merode (1875-1966)

Mixed Programme
Produced at The Alhambra, London.
Review from Lloyds Weekly Newspaper (London, UK) - 15th June, 1902.
Mdlle. Cleo de Merode is now appearing at the Alhambra, a lady who has obtained fame in Paris as a classic beauty, and whose portraits are to be found in every photographer's window. She is distinctly graceful, and her dances give good opportunities for the rhythmic swaying of her classic draperies. "In Japan", the beautiful ballet recently produced, is meeting with great favour, and it is next week to be supplemented by a gorgeous spectacle entitled "Britannia's Realm." This will entail the withdrawal of "Gretna Green." The programme is a strong one, including such well-known favourites as Miss Ruth Davenport, Mr. Herbert Grover, "Soldiers of the King," Les Alexandro, the Maples, and the Bioscope.
