"Three Little Maids"
Musical Play by Paul Rubens.
Produced at The Prince of Wales's Theatre.
Reviewed in the Daily Mail [London, UK] - 9th September, 1902.

The "Three Little Maids" moved over from the Apollo Theatre to the Prince of Wales's last night, and since they took Mr. G. P. Huntley along with them they are certain of a long and happy tenancy of the new home.

Mr. Huntley is so inimitable that imitation of him has become a popular parlour game. He has grown funnier than ever, and last night the pleasant little piece was unduly prolonged because of the protracted periods of laughter that followed each of his sentences. Miss Ada Reeve has now come into the part which was written for her, and in which Miss Madge Crichton discovered herself so effectively. Miss Reeves's style hardly suggests the country bred girl, but she sang Mr. Paul Rubens' song, "Men, Humbugging Men," like a metropolitan artist.

Miss Delia Mason now plays Miss Edna May's part, and plays it with a sweet, simple seriousness that is very effective. The most capable Miss Lottie Venne is still Lady St. Mallory, which is all to the good of the piece, and Miss Hilda Moody is in her old part. But whoever else comes or goes; it is Mr. Huntley plus the pleasantly conceived idea of the piece - carried out in everything, plot, costume, scenery, and music - that matter most.
